Company profile
Finance.HDdev is developed by HDdev, a Belgian technology company founded in 2024 by David Hennequin, a web development and cybersecurity engineer. The application enables individuals and freelancers to automatically synchronise all their European bank accounts via PSD2 Open Banking, categorise their spending using artificial intelligence, track their budgets in real time and generate personalised financial projections.
The bank connection is handled exclusively by Bridge, a payment services provider approved by the ACPR (Autorite de Controle Prudentiel et de Resolution, backed by the Banque de France). Banking credentials never pass through Finance.HDdev servers. All financial data is encrypted (Fernet/AES-128-CBC + HMAC-SHA256) and hosted entirely within the European Union, in full GDPR compliance.

press@hddev.euFinance.HDdev: the Belgian fintech democratising financial management across Europe
Finance.HDdev was born from a simple observation: in 2024, no personal financial management app simultaneously addressed the needs for multi-country coverage, bank-grade security and linguistic accessibility for the 450 million citizens of the European Union. David Hennequin, a Belgian entrepreneur specialising in web development and cybersecurity, founded HDdev with the ambition of filling this gap. The app leverages the PSD2 regulatory framework (Payment Services Directive 2) and Bridge, an ACPR-approved payment services provider, to deliver secure, transparent bank synchronisation that meets the strictest European standards.
Founder journey and technological vision
David Hennequin developed recognised expertise in professional WordPress development, web security and software architecture through creating solutions used by hundreds of European businesses. It is this application security experience that directly influenced the design of Finance.HDdev: financial data encryption (Fernet/AES-128-CBC + HMAC-SHA256) is built natively into the architecture, not added as an afterthought. His vision: an app where data protection is as fundamental as the features it offers. The technical approach combines PSD2 Open Banking for reliable bank connectivity, artificial intelligence for categorisation and predictive analysis, and a multilingual architecture designed from inception for all 24 EU languages.
Market positioning and European launch May 2026
The European personal financial management market is dominated by players that typically focus on a single country or sacrifice security for speed of deployment. Finance.HDdev takes the opposite strategy: build the compliance, security and multilingual infrastructure first, then open to the entire European market. The official launch is planned for May 1, 2026, with banking coverage across 24 EU countries via Bridge, an interface available in all 24 official languages, and a freemium model with five subscription tiers (free SOLO, BUDGET, PREMIUM, TRIBU and ULTIMATE). This positioning targets the 24 million European freelancers and multi-bank households managing their finances across multiple institutions.
